O novo Ensino Médio da Green Book

The New High School

You may have heard of the “New High School” Program, but do you know what adjustments are required by law?

In this post, we’ll explain a little about the new rules and how we will work these three very important years in the lives of our students.

1) WORKLOAD

One of the main changes was the annual workload required by law. A total of 3.000 hours per year is now required, with a maximum of 1.800 hours of general basic education and a minimum of 1.200 hours of formative itineraries.

At Green Book, our workload overcomes 1.000 to those required by the BNCC (Common National Curriculum Base), totalizing 4.000 hours per year, with 1.800 hours of general basic education and 2.200 hours of formative itineraries.

But… what are formative itineraries?

2) FORMATIVE ITINERARIES

Formative itineraries are a group of disciplines, projects, workshops and study centers that aim to deepen knowledge in one or more areas of interest of the student. The four areas of knowledge (Languages and its Technologies, Mathematics and its Technologies, Natural Sciences and its Technologies and Applied Human and Social Sciences) are also used as a basis for the formative itineraries, but they are structured in axes.

Our great differential is that at Green Book, students can attend itineraries in the four areas, concomitantly.

In other words, in our New High School, in addition to a bigger workload and educational support, students will also have more options when choosing their formative itineraries, according to their area of real interest.
